Tutorial for Paint Shop Pro v7

Here is the pic, you can clic it to see all the flaws in 1024x768's resolution. the natural light was unequal on Elle's face and the exposure of the camera was bad, so this pic has some big and obvious flaws.
I should give the good color to the skin where it's shiny and burned ; and i should suppress the parasitic hairs...
Here are all the correctings i should do ... What a big job to do !
How to clean the parasitic hairs ? Begin by zooming in the area of the face to clean...
Select the tool figured by a small trowel.

In its configuration's window, select the width of the tool. Have some tries with this parameter.

(one tip : average 3 times the width of the scratch !)

Click the scratch (hair) and stretch your selection.
One tip : proceed centimeter by centimeter, or maybe 5 millimeters by 5 mms.

Then release the click and the tool does the job... Not bad isn't it ;) ?

It is important to proceed by small selections, particulary with complex pics with a lot of colors and gradation of colors ../..

because an average is calculated to fill in your selection, so a small selection allow the relevance of this average with colors.
Have some tries !
This tool applies to any type of scratches, and to ugly points and to all the linear flaws...
Selection of a ugly line in the pic.
And cleaning.

If you make a mess, use CTRL + Z to cancel your last clic.

Job's done ! the remaining hairs are too much dense for beeing cleaned with this tool. Now we will see how to clean them.

We must select the best color of the nearest skin and paint the hairs with this color to clean them.

Select the "pipette" tool to memorize a color by clicking an area with the good color.

Tips : select the foreground color with a left clic and a background color with a right clic.

I clicked and the color's values are shown.
Then select the "paintbrush" tool.
In its configuration window, select the size of the brush (rounded shape = like a spray or an aerograph).

Another important parameter is the opacity : a value of 50 is good to begin, the painting will be half transparent.

After maybe 100 clics we can see the final result. I deleted the hairs so that they follow the curve of her cheek.
I have often selected some new colors with the pipette tool and used the Brush tool, playing with its parameters (size and opacity).
It's a patience's game.(clickable pic for 1024x768's resolution)

It is the same method for the forehead's shiny area :
- Pipette tool to select the color.
- Brush to apply the color.
But i used a bigger size of brush for the forehead (29) because the area to paint is bigger.
Work in progress with the forehead...

Forehead is done.

I used the brush with the following parameters :
- size from 10 to 30 pixels.
- Opacity from 40 to 55 %. (40 is more transparent)

After tens of clics, i modifyed the cheek and the chin. We can see that it can look like a person who has used too much make-up :D.
If we don't like, we need to use a filter to add some noise.

Here the final result, you can click it for a 1024x768's resolution.

I did not changed the lip, but have cleaned all the hairs on her chest.
