The example, in the educational meaning, is used to
demonstrate, to illustrate, to strenghten an idea, a
theory, a way to follow. It seems to me that we underestimate
the strength of the example in our societies, because
the bad examples are so many. I wish to point at some
economic & social actors, even if they usually answer
to their accusers that i would be just reactionary,
archaic or too much conservative...
Of course i think to those who format our medias, first
of them are the TV programs, radio, press magazines
; in fact all those who take part in our so-called Information.
The lack of variety of the topics, their subjective
processing, the tedious repetition they do, don't help
to inform us but really format people's mind.
It's the same with the realm of hobbies : TV (another
time), movies, video games or Internet, these modern
leisure activities are captivating because they shower
most of our senses and a lot of the waitings of our
mind too : adventure, action, discovering, personnality's
transfert to a character... But my observation is the
same, these medias use their brilliant imagination to
create some dependances between the consumer and their
products, the goal is to create an attachment, derivative
sales, future sales...
And then, is it bad ?
In my opinion, the problem is that all these activities
value the bad examples they show. Our childrens minds
are hammering out by these examples all the day because
Medias are just everywhere. The schools are not anymore
the place to learn a more balanced example ; at the
contrary Media's examples are accepted, confirmed and
validated at school. The human being is presumptuous
enough to think he is capable of getting things in perspective...
but the human being is just presumptuous ! Before he
will discover the negative sides of our modern societies,
the mind of our kids is like a sponge absorbing the
innumerable examples every days.
The earlier this trivialization of exacerbated behaviors
(violence, pornography, aggressivity, uncivility, but
rose-tinted life too) will be , the more difficult it
will be for the young peoples to get things in perspective,
because these behaviors became innate.
What will be the consequences to their manner of thinking
and acting ?
Ok, what it has to do with the dolls
?
There is a subject very difficult to deal with on the
forums of DollLovers communauty : the dolls who look
like childs. These low or high end dolls have some child's
faces which look like pre-pubescent or almost pubescent
or adolescent (in the best case). These dolls manufacturers
play with the red line
of something socially acceptable and something socially
not acceptable. Everyone has a different opinion about
where the red line is,
but everyone (i hope) think the red
line exists, so everyone should agree the problem
is real : Is it acceptable that some manufacturers produce
dolls with a child's face and sometimes a child's body
? These dolls made for sexual purposes and can be viewed
by everyone on the Internet ?
The rules of conduct of Forums exist to keep the peace,
not to define the red line.
Of course, the owners of the child's dolls claim that
their dolls are not childs but their opinion about where
is the red line could really
be lax or just wrong... What will happen in the mind
of the young peoples (kids, adolescent) or the mind
of the easily influenced peoples who read the Internet
since years (for years) and note that having sex with
a child, even a toy, is something existing, acceptable,
advertised, maybe fun ? How will the mind of youngest
people (8 to 18 yo ?) be formatted ?
What about if only one of them would
commit the worse to your kid because he thought it was
normal !
The Lovedollers communauty legitimately wishes to appear
as populated by normal people, this hobby is something
new and a bit special, but most of us are just adult
and responsible. In my opinion, i think it will be very
difficult before the authorities (national or international)
define where should be this red
line (which will not be mine and it's unimportant
;) and before the production of child's dolls becomes
unauthorized, or the importation becomes unauthaurized,
that should not be too much difficult as all of them
come from Japan.
